💧🌿 Hands-On Sustainability in Action!

This week I had the incredible opportunity to assist my permaculture teacher, Andrew Faust during an on-site workshop at the Center for Bioregional Living that focused on installing rain gardens and rain barrels — and when he says “rain barrel,” he means business. Just look at this 1,550-gallon system in the photo!

These kinds of regenerative solutions aren’t just for individual homes — they can and should be integrated at the municipal level. Imagine a town that captures and utilizes rainwater, reduces runoff, nourishes native plants, and protects our waterways, all while building resilience to climate shifts.

As someone committed to sustainability, wellness, and community resilience, I’m excited to bring this kind of forward-thinking environmental design into town planning — because healthy ecosystems support healthy people.

Let’s build a town that works with nature, beginning with our most vital resource - water!
