I had the most inspiring experience at Beyond Delicious: Transforming the Future of Food at Omega, in partnership with Glynwood Farm.
My deepest thanks to Kathleen Finlay, President of Glynwood, Mark Bittman, and so many others leading the way in the food justice movement. Your dedication is shaping a healthier, fairer, and more resilient future.
One of the most powerful moments was the opening ceremony led by Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin, founder of the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance and cofounder/CEO of Tree-Range® Farms. His words brought Indigenous voices to the forefront — reminding us of ancient wisdom, reimagined for today, and centering solutions that reflect the world we want to build.
Food systems and food sovereignty have been close to my heart for a long time, and this experience reaffirmed how vital they are to healthy, thriving communities. As I make my run for Putnam Valley Town Supervisor, I’m excited to bring back what I’ve learned and explore ways our town can be part of building a food future that nourishes both people and planet.
Coming home to my own small garden harvest was the perfect reminder that every small act has an impact on the whole — even if my teenager didn’t want to be pictured with the veggies. 🌱💚
